How do I set up my mail program to send and receive mail?
This document describes how to configure a desktop e-mail program to retrieve and send your e-mail through Summersault.
First you need to locate where the preferences are stored in youre-mail program. Frequently these may be found under the menus labeled"Tools: Accounts", or "Edit: Preferences".
You'll be asked to enter a few settings. The ones that apply to youraccount at Summmersault are listed below.
Incoming mail (POP) server
This is typically your domain name prepended with "mail", for example mail.yourcompany.com.Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
This is typically assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Summersault also supports POP-before-SMTP authentication, so you can use mail.yourcompany.com here if you want to send outgoing mail through Summersault. Note that some ISP's may block you from sending outgoing mail through us. See this related article below on blocking outbound SMTP access for details.Account Name (Username)
This should be your full e-mail address (e.g. info@yourcompany.com). If you have an older version of the software, you may need to replace the "@" with a "%", e.g. info%yourcompany.com.Password
This is be the password you associated with the Account Name above.
Please note that you will want to delete mailoff our server when you retrieve it to your local computer, orelse you will eventually exceed your allotted disk quota.
