What is involved in moving a Summersault-hosted website and e-mail account to another provider?

If you're trying to move your website and/or e-mail account hosted by Summersault to another provider, we're certainly sorry to see you go and we hope you'll contact us first to see if there are any improvements we can make to help retain your business.

The process of moving your account to another provider will generally not require any action on Summersault's part until the account is ready to shut down.  You should contact your new hosting provider and ask them for instructions on the best way to move the account over.  It will usually involve updating the domain registration record for the account to "point" to the new provider, and then you can work with them to make sure the website files and e-mail accounts are ready on their side before the transfer happens.

Once the transition is complete, you should let Summersault know that you've moved your site so that we can close out your account and finalize any billing statements.  Note that if you plan on moving your account near the end or beginning of the month, you should give us as much notice as possible to avoid being billed at the beginning of the month for services you won't use.

If you still have questions or need assistance, please submit a technical support request.
