What do the items in the AWStats section of my Control Panel mean?
Summersault generates general website usage statistics for each of our hosting accounts, updated daily. The reports can provide you with information about who is visiting your site, what pages they are accessing, how they are getting to your site, and various other related data points. You can use the statistics from these to help you guide your website's development.
All this information is accessed from the "AWstats" link on your Control Panel page (the "cPanel"):
http://www.[your.domain.name.here]/cpanel
After logging in, you will have access to the cPanel, and all of it's management tools. About halfway down, you'll see the "LOGS" section, and in that you'll find the "AWSTATS" icon.
At the very top, the "SUMMARY" link provides a high level overview of how much traffic you are getting in a general month.
Under the "WHEN" section, you can find summaries for the levels of traffic on your site, at varying levels of detail.
- Choosing the links below that will allow you to specify : hour-to-hour, a weekly overview, the past month, or even a year-to-date overview.
In the "WHO" section, you have a collection of reports about who is visiting your site.
- From the "COUNTRIES" link, you can see a graphic representation of where your site's vistors are from, based upon the country they are in.
- The "ROBOTS/SPIDERS" link contains information about which search engines are cataloging your site.
Under the "NAVIGATION" section, you can see which pages were visited most, and how long people viewed the site.
Under the "REFERRERS" section, you will find the search engines which have sent visitors to your site.
- The "Search Keyphrases" and "Search Keywords" will allow you to see what people have searched for on the search engines, which led them to your site.
All these pieces fit together to help provide an picture of "who" is visiting your site, and just “what” they are viewing on your site.
